Ozzy Osbourne is open to working with Tony Iommi again in the future, after the two reunited for work on his latest solo album.

Ozzy made the comment in a recent sit-down with Billy Morrison, who asked if the two songs Ozzy wrote with Iommi — "Degradation Rules" and "No Escape From Now" — could lead to more Black Sabbath.

"No, not more Black Sabbath," Ozzy replied. "But I wouldn't say no to do some more with Tony. Black Sabbath is completely different music to what I'm into now."

The Prince of Darkness added that he greatly appreciated that he and his old bandmate could work together "over the phone," even though Ozzy was in L.A. and Iommi in England.

Regarding "Degradation Rules" specifically, Ozzy conceded that it "would have been a great Black Sabbath track on [the band's final] 13 album. I wasn't really in love with that 13 album."

Ozzy, Iommi and bassist Geezer Butler retired Black Sabbath in 2017. Ozzy said he still regrets that the band moved on with the farewell without original Black Sabbath drummer Bill Ward onboard.

"But I've spoke to Bill since," Ozzy continued. "He's all right. I would work with any of them individually. But as Black Sabbath, I think it's [over]. We couldn't really beat what we've already done."

Ozzy and Iommi have been communicating regularly in recent years, texting almost daily and speaking on the phone when they find an appropriate spot in their respective timezones.

But soon the pair of heavy metal icons will live within a few hours from one another. Ozzy and his wife Sharon Osbourne are planning to move back to England by next year.

Ozzy reunited with Iommi onstage this past summer at the closing ceremonies for the Commonwealth Games, which were held in their hometown of Birmingham.

Ozzy intends to perform again at his virtual Ozzfest this week, which is being held in the Metaverse. If his recovery from neck surgery stays on track, he plans to get back on tour in the temporal world next spring.
