Metallica Will Perform National Anthem Before Warriors, Raptors Game 3

Metallica Performs At The Rose Bowl

Heavy metal icons Metallica are lending their talents to the Golden State Warriors.

Guitarists James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett will perform an electric version of "The Star-Spangled Banner" for the Bay Area crowd before Game 3 of the NBA Finals tonight.

The series between the Warriors and the Toronto Raptors is tied 1-1 as it heads to Oracle Arena in Oakland for the next two games.

Metallica announced the news via Twitter on Tuesday afternoon, suggesting U.S.-based fans tune in to ABC early to see the special rendition of the Anthem.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers have called the Bay Area home for decades, and have performed "The Star-Spangled Banner" for their home teams numerous times over the years, including once before a Giants vs. Yankees game earlier this season.

Metallica also performed the Anthem before Game 5 of the 2015 NBA Finals.

Metallica's 2019 WorldWired tour continues Saturday in Meath, Ireland. Get all the tour dates here.
