Is Nirvana Officially Back Together?

On Monday (October 15), Kerrang! teased its new issue and got Nirvana fans buzzing. The cover features a photo of the band's surviving members — Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear — together for the first time in 24 years with the text "World Exclusive: Nirvana Reunited Dave & Krist Speak" scrawled in big block letters.

The magazine posted the photo on Instagram with the caption "The new issue of Kerrang! (out this Wednesday) is a prettttttty big one..."

However, it is unclear if the story is focused on future plans or simply recounts the recent Cal Jam reunion.

Check out Kerrang!'s Instagram post below.

Earlier this month, the band got back together during the Foo Fighters' second annual Cal Jam in San Bernardino, California, after teasing a reunion during the weeks leading up to the one-day festival. Joan Jett and Deer Tick vocalist John McCauley sang in place of Kurt Cobain, while the surviving members played "Serve the Servants," "All Apologies," "Scentless Apprentice," "In Bloom, "Breed," and "Smells Like Teen Spirit."

The band has only played a handful of gigs since Cobain's passing in 1994, with the first reunion taking place in 2013. Fans have been urging Grohl, Novoselic and Smear to plan a Nirvana reunion tour since the Cal Jam set. Could their dreams finally be coming true?
