What up rockers?
Late yesterday, Warner Bros. and Man of Steel director Zack Snyder confirmed who will play The Dark Knight opposit Cavill in the Man of Steel sequel. Much to EVERYONE's surprise, the studio went with a BIG name actor to step into the franchise...Ben Affleck.
Now, I'll have to tell you, I personally do not agree with this decision. Affleck is an amazing actor and Academy Award winning director, but Batman material? And I'm not the only one that appears to disagree. This morning, the net is on FIRE with complaints and outrage over the casting move.
Zack Snyder, director of Man of Steel and it's impending sequel, was quoted as enthusiastic about the casting descion.
Most superhero fans will remember Affleck's performance in 2003's Daredevil, in which he played blinded lawyer-turned superhero Matt Murdock (Daredevil). Of course, many fans walked away from the film with a bad taste, even though I actually enjoyed the film and thought Affleck's performance of the man without fear was the best in the film (certainly better than Colin Farrell's aweful performance as hitman, Bullseye).
Only time, and more images and videos, will tell whether Warner has made a good call. We'll have to wait until the release of the Man of Steel sequel.
