A Texas man is facing charges after being caught on camera abandoning a dog on the side of the road.
Police say the footage shows 52-year-old Jorge Spears pull to the side of a road in a black sedan. He then can be seen tugging the dog's leash to get it out of the car. When the dog walks around the car, Spears drives away.
He told police he dumped the dog because his sister said she was having trouble caring for it.
Spears faces animal cruelty charges.
The Dallas SPCA found a home for the dog, now named KD.
KD's new owners say the canine is possibly the "sweetest dog" they've ever met.
