WAVERLY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A woman and her son from Ironton were killed in a head-on crash in Pike County, Ohio.

The Ohio Highway Patrol tells WSAZ.com the wreck happened in Waverly, Ohio just before 2 p.m..

According to the police report, John W. Mullins, 44, of Ironton, was driving southbound on U.S. 23 when his 1992 Toyota Tacoma ran right into a tractor trailer.

Mullins and his passenger, 72 year old Geneva F. Mullins, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the tractor trailer, Karl R. Woodley, 70, of Ontario, Canada was treated and released at the scene by the Pike County EMS.

The police report says Mullins drove his vehicle left of center striking Mr. Woodley's truck head-on in the northbound lanes.
